When these two musicians get together,

you can feel the air change a little bit.

Things get a bit quicker, edgier, and somehow you feel

that much cooler just being around them.

With decades of experience under their bass straps,

Brandino and Momo have both arrived at a point in their

respective careers where the purpose of playing music is

strictly for the pleasure of expressing their creativity.

Their friendship and collaboration began in 2018 after Momo,

who was an interviewer for Bass Musician Magazine did a special

feature on Brandino, whose credits include industry giants such

as Aretha franklin, James Brown, Justin Timberlake, Will.i.am ,

Beyoncé and more …

In 2020, when the world shut down, they created The Brandino

and Momo show. Their shared sense of humour and natural

banter provided some comic relief on social media from the

seriousness of the situation and helped solidify the alliance.

More recently they formalised their association with an upcoming

5 track EP called: The Brandino Momo Project for which

Brandino challenged Momo to put aside his basses and pull out

his guitars instead.

The project is a musical conversation of mostly instrumental

tracks peppered with jazz, rock, and R &B, sprinkled with their

special Virgo brothers spice which makes this EP such a unique

collaboration.

Space rock, the first single, is accompanied by an animated video

perhaps inspired by Momo’s years as an A and R for the world for

Ubisoft (the game company). Coincidentally Brandino was the

first bass player to be broadcasted live from Mars to earth in

2012 in the song Reach for the Stars by Will.i.am

The video portrays two humanoid robots who leave the earth in

search of some musical inspiration. They are confronted with the

vast amount of “stuff” and garbage hiding out up in space.

Do they end up finding inspiration? Well, only the dark void of

space knows for sure!

Stay tuned as they say!
